Master of Environment (200 Points)
Country: Australia

I chose the Graduate Environmental Program at Melbourne University as it offered the specialisation I desired to undertake in postgraduate study - Master of Environment specialising in development. It is also one of the most reputable universities in Australia, and the one which I believed would provide the best mix of academic, cultural and extra-curricular opportunities.

To date the University has not only met but surpassed my expectations. The academics are at the top of their field, and have developed courses that are interesting, engaging, challenging and, perhaps most importantly, practical. Furthermore, the Office of Environment staff has been very supportive and informative, and have provided endless assistance and advice throughout all aspects of the Program (applying, enrolling, completing, etc). Receiving a Commonwealth Supported Place (via the Graduate Access Program) was rewarding. It has also provided financial relief from a significant proportion of the costs of tertiary study.

Upon completion of my Masters I intend to play my part in the realisation of a better global future by working in the development field. In doing so, I will employ the knowledge and experience I have gained throughout my under- and post-graduate education to assist in developing and actioning sustainable solutions to real-world socio-ecological problems.
