How to Apply
Application Checklist and Process
Before you apply, please ensure that you meet all the admission requirements for the program you are applying for.
|Completion of an Undergraduate Degreee||
A three-year undergraduate degree with an overall weighted average of at least 65% is required for all degrees in the Graduate Environmental Program.
An honours degree* or equivalent is required to apply for the one year (100 point) Master of Environment programs. Applicants with a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent may apply for the two year (200 point) Master of Environment program, Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate in Environment.
Applicants who have completed additional postgraduate study or have relevant professional, documented work experience may receive credit (advanced standing) towards their degree.
If you are a new applicant to the University you will need to create your application and generate a user ID and password
* An honours degree is classified as at least 4 years of study including a substantial research component assessed as part of the degree.
|Submit Certified Copies of Academic Results||
Provide certified copies of your results together with a grading scale used by the University (or Faculty/Department) where you completed your undergraduate degree. Certified copies need to be sent in hard copy. There is an option to upload an uncertified copy via the online application form. If the documents are in a language other than English, please provide certified translated copies.
The definition of a certified copy is a photocopy of the original document which has the signature and official stamp of one of the following people: barrister or solicitor, Police in Charge of Station, Pharmacist, Doctor, Dentist, Principal of School, Justice of Peace, Clerk of Court indicating that they have sighted the original document.
If you have completed your bachelor's degree at the University of Melbourne you do not need to submit a hard copy of your results.
|English Language Requirements||
All applicants must satisfy the University's English Language Requirements. For all degrees offered by the Office for Environmental Programs these are:
*Required scores must be achieved from a single test report, even if you have taken multiple TOEFL, IELTS or PEARSON tests
|Select your Stream or Area of Interest||If you are interested in pursuing one of the specialist paths of interest (streams) please indicate this in the personal statement. You may specify more than one interest area but please note that you may only be enrolled in one stream once you commence study.|
|Personal Statement and Curriculum Vitae (CV)||
Applications for the all programs in the Graduate Environmental programs require a personal statement of up to 500 words outlining prior study, work experience, and motivation to undertake the program:
Your statement can be uploaded via the online application system. There is also the option to include two references from professional or academic sources.
Applicants should also include a brief CV
